OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE
The 8 production units that form PinguinLutosa are equipped with the most recent technology which enables our group to produce a large range of products respecting the strictest regulations of quality and hygiene. All the production sites are certified with IFS-BRC. Lutosa is also certified with ISO 9001:2008 and its own laboratory is accredited with a Belac with the norms ISO/IEC 17025:2005.
To keep up the development, the group invests continuously in management and operator training and invests in the latest machines and installations.

Pinguin Convenience
The production unit in Langemark has a line for mixes and coating, a re-filler for steam cooked meals as well as 2 lines of packaging (small packages and meals-box packages).
Our equipment permits us to produce:
- vegetables style al dente, pre-fried and grilled vegetables,
flavoured vegetables and vegetables with sauce
- pasta and rice, ready-to-use in a few seconds
- soups and sauces
- fry and steam cooked vegetables
The King's Lynn and Boston (UK) units also transform and package convenience range products, like bag-in-bag (little steam bags in a bigger bag), ready-cooked meals in boxes...

Our production lines are multi-functional:
- Prefried frozen | prefried chilled | non parfried | dehydrated (potato flakes)
- With or without potato skin
- French fries | cut products | different shaped
- Coated (clear coating or with spices)
- Possibility to use different types of oil
- Possibility to have different colourations
- Different processes are possible (drying, frying, degreasing...)
Optimisation of logistics
The group PinguinLutosa uses the IT program SAP to follow the production process and to know the exact quantity/quality of different products that are in stock in the production sites. The SAP functions by EAN codes that enable the user to easily reserve a certain quantity/quality of products for certain customers. This system will be progressively generalised in all functions of PinguinLutosa to assure the optimized capacity of all processes. To develop the logistics of vegetables, PinguinLutosa concluded an agreement with Partner Logistics in 2008.
The total capacity to stock Pinguin finished products in Belgium increased
to 15.600 pallets, 62.000 bulks.
Pinguin Convenience has a storage for 650 pallets.
PinguinLutosa Foods UK has a storage capacity of 92.000 pallets and Pinguin Aquitaine8.000 pallets which are from thereon distributed to southern Europe.
Lutosa disposes 11 cold chambers with a total capacity to stock 83.000 pallets. Two out of the eleven chambers are completely automatic and dispose 46.578 individually accessible palette places. These automatic chambers represent an investment of 25.000.000 Euros.
